In 1990 the City of Concord entered into a partnership with Homart Developers to expand
and compliment our retail opportunities with the construction of the Steeplegate Mall on
Concord Heights near the intersection of I-393 and Route 106. The resulting upgrading of
the infrastructure, development of the 500,000 square foot mall, and substantial rezoning
of the area lead to an additional one million square feet of retail development. Today
Concord has firmly established its identity as the retail destination for the central New
